The multi-phase and multi-year addition and renovation project that was completed at Good Samaritan was entirely served by a variable refrigerant flow heating and air-conditioning system. The VRF units are located in mechanical rooms and are water cooled; therefore, no outdoor equipment is present. As part of this project, a new central mechanical plant was constructed providing over 200 tons of cooling and high-efficiency gas heating. This plant contains evaporative cooling towers, primary and secondary pumping, water chemical treatment, a 200 KW diesel back-up generator and is the campus’ main distribution power center. Architechnics’ engineers designed the plant and then had the plant constructed off-site providing quick installation and start up.
