The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center contains multiple elements, but they fall into three basic categories. The spiritual significance of “church” is highlighted by a state-of-the-art chapel. The key feature space of the building is richly detailed with warm materials and colors and can seat 500 on the main floor and balcony. A recreation and wellness center is the second major component. A gymnasium, walking track, private locker rooms, workout areas and an indoor pool are major anchor spaces. Community rooms and classrooms pull double duty in support of the chapel and the recreation center. The rest of the facility houses the local Salvation Army Corps administrative offices in a private office suite.
