Wesley Village Nursing Home hired Architechnics to design a building renovation and new addition to supplement their nursing services. The project is comprised of 2800 square feet of space and includes a remodeled existing inpatient physical therapy suite, a new outpatient physical therapy suite, training kitchen and restroom, and a large central lobby that is a new focal point for the facility.

A large exterior covered drop off canopy was also designed and constructed as part of this project. The exterior canopy addition and entry lobby transformed an existing lackluster secondary entrance into a prominent and dynamic main access point. A new main front entrance was an important part of the design criteria early on and ultimately became manifest in the final product.

The new construction is an addition to an existing IDPH skilled nursing facility and was designed to comply with Illinois Department of Public Health regulations for skilled nursing facilities and outpatient physical therapy. The project was completed and IDPH approved in the March of 2014 after a twelve month construction period.
