The 9-1-1 Public Safety Communications and Emergency Operations center for Adams County and Quincy, Illinois will be a rare stand alone building built for a 9-1-1 center, but, there is more to it than that. This is a building that was designed to meet the required program that this building be an emergency management and command center. When an emergency situation arises, this will be the location of all emergency communication.
This type of facility requires special security, such as special detention quality door and hardware.
It also has the structural capability to withstand our typical west central Illinois weather. Functionally it groups support functions around the six station dispatch space.
It is built on the campus of other County buildings such as the Highway Department and the Adams County Juvenile Detention Center. Architechnics, Inc. was responsible for the complete construction documents for the building, infrastructure, security measures, communication equipment, appointments and furnishings.
