The Salvation Army Emergency Shelter will soon have a new home on the north east corner of Fifth and Broadway in Quincy. The new shelter building will have 12 rooms for residents, a large dining area and a lounge. The building will also house The Salvation Army's other community services programs. Approximately 4000 square feet of the total 10,400 square foot project is renovation and remodeling of the former Inman Gallery. The shelter's close proximity to the Kroc Center, which is currently under construction, will centralize all of The Salvation Army's resources in the downtown area. The project is currently being designed and expected to be bid in the Summer of 2011.
